Leaking pebbelcrete swimming pool return pipe detected and resolved in Paddington

This morning we attended to a reported leaking pebblecrete pool in Paddington.
We tested the multi port valve before inspecting the skimmer box.
We used our hydrophone microphone to tested all penetrations in the pool which included skimmer box, returns x 4, solar suction provisions x 2, solar return provision x 1, lights x 2 and main drain including hydrostatic valve.
We then tested the concealed plumbing namely the suction line from the skimmer box back to the pump which held pressure.
We then tested the return concealed plumbing which did not hold pressure, we repeated the testing which failed on the second attempt. The return pipework is Not Secure.
We noted there was a directional valve below the chlorinator cell which was feeding a water feature.
Always mindful of costs to our client. We entered the pool and supply and installed 4 x 40mm flat plugs into the return jets and changed the direction of the valve now to allow water to return back into the pool via the water feature. We checked the solar suction provisions and noted these were plugged meaning a probable earlier leak site. We inspected the main drain and noted it was full of debris , we cleaned the drain and replaced the 50mm hydrostatic valve.
We removed both light fittings and dye tested where the cable penetrates the cell. Resolving the leak this way saved our client substantial further detection and repairs costs which would have in or likelihood would have required cutting and reinstating of concrete
