This morning we attended to a reported leaking above ground vinyl lined pool in Springfield. We spoke to our client before Christmas and gave him some tips to fix it himself. However the pool is still leaking. We noted water on the concrete path beside the pool and the water level at the bottom of the skimmer box. We noted a large vinyl patch on the floor of the pool. We entered the pool and removed the patch to locate a L shape tear on the floor.
We noted sand had given way below the tear causing a concave effect. We opted to build up the tear with several layers of epoxy putty before re dye testing the site. We then conducted a visual inspection on the remainder of the vinyl and located two small holes close together on the floor. We dye tested and puttied this leak site.
