This morning we attended to a pool prime issue in the The Gap. When the pool cleaner is connected too the skimmer box, the pool pup and chlorinator cell loses prime. Our client was sure he was not losing water.
We conducted a series of checks which included inspecting the pump filtration, skimmer box inspection, skimmer suction plate inspection, inspection of the pool cleaner which identified air leaks at each end of the pool hose and cracks in the the fittings.
We backwashed and rinse the sand filter before we pressure tested the suction line which identified a slight drop in pressure over its testing. We repeated the test to get the same result.
Given the pool was not losing water and always mindful of costs we suggested to our client to 1/.Replace the pool cleaner hose and 2/. Explore the replacing the suction cleaner to a suitable robotic pool cleaner for vinyl lined pools.
