This morning we returned to a reported leaking vinyl lined pool in Daisy Hill, we had previously attended to conduct leak detection which identified a failed return line. Tracer gas identified a likely leak location near the corner of the pool. The return pipework was contained in the concrete shell of the pool.We used a quick cut concrete saw and removed some old concrete adjacent to the pool and after some excavation identified an Aggie line adjacent to the pool shell was capturing the tracer gas. Always being mindful of cost, our client conducted further excavation.
We identified the leak source being a 40mm – 90 degree bend in the wall of the pool. Our licence plumber reconfigured the plumbing before testing the repair and then the entire line to find it secure.
