Concealed water leak detection and repair in Sunnybank Hills

Today we attended to a reported concealed water leak In Sunnybank Hills, a water meter test revealed a leak of 1920 litres per day, a pressure test failed. After tracing the line we introduced tracer gas when we located the likely leak site in a garden bed under trees in between the water meter and the house.
We commenced excavation before finally locating the leak site being a failed 25mm “T” piece approximately 1.40 metres deep. Normally these depths require an excavator to provide sufficient access to complete the repair. Not wanting to delay the repair we continued to excavate before be had enough room for our licensed plumber to reconfigure the pipework.

We tested the repair then pressure tested the entire line to find it secure. We backfilled and cleaned the site before ensuring all water services inside the house were functioning before a final water meter test confirmed nil movement.
