08 Sep Leaking hydrostatic valve identified and replaced in Carrara
This morning we received a call from our pensioner client reporting having lost almost all of her water in her tiled pool. We attended and noted was pool was only around 1/8 full of water. All pool pipework was exposed leaving the main drain/hydrostatic valve had failed or a structural crack.
We inspected the main drain and noted the 50mm hydrostatic valve was loose to touch.
We removed the valve to find the Top o ring was missing and the metal spring was broken.
This was the cause of the leak, probably the worst valve I have ever seen.
Our client said they have been there for 40 years and never changed the valve.
Hydrostatic valves ought to be replaced every 5-7 years
A pensioner discount was applied.
