Failed swimming pool return pipe detected and repaired in The Gap

This morning we attended to a reported leaking vinyl lined pool, our client had another contractor attend and marked the locations where they believed the suction and return line was leaking.

We conducted our own testing on the concealed plumbing and drilled a number of pilot holes at the locations where they believed the line was leaking.
We introduced tracer gas and failed to detect any gas readings at the nominated spots.

We found the return line was not holding pressure and after conducted a series of tests located the leak close to one of the return jets. We had to remove some bricks path and steps to locate a failed 40mm, 90 degreee bend in the return pipe.

Our licensed plumber completed the repair before testing the repair and then the whole line to find it secure.
We backfilled the repair in sand, leaving the old paving out as the height of the return pipe would be damaged if the brick/concrete would have been reinstated.

Our client would fill in the area with decorative rocks.
