This morning we attended to a leaking return pipe at a swimming pool in Faceview. Our client had engaged another contractor to assist in locating the leak. Based on his advise our client removed a section of concrete behind the return jets, only to find No leak.
We pressure tested the line which did not hold pressure and after drilling a number of holes in the concrete and introducing tracer gas we located a damaged 40mm 90 degree bend and failed 40mm coupling around 2.5 metres away.
Our plumber reconfigured the line before we re tested the line to find it now secure.
We replaced the original hydrostatic valve as well as a preventative measure going forward.
