This morning we attended to a reported leaking fibreglass pool in Chelmer, after obtaining the background information we conducted a series of tests which included physical inspection, hydrophone microphone and dye testing of all penetrations.
We entered the pool and replaced the original hydrostatic valve cleaning out the dirt and debris that generally settles on the valve.
We then inspected and dye tested the skimmer and all the penetrations.
We noted on the outside of a solar suction pipe where it joins the fibreglass shell had debris attached. Upon removal of the debris we dye tested noting clearly dye escaping at the location.
We applied an epoxy putty bead to the leak site then re dye tested.
We talked through the findings with our clients.
