This morning we attended to a reported leaking concrete pool in Wynnum, we tested the multipart valve before pressure testing the suction and return concealed plumbing. We noted the return line which consisted of only one return jet was not holding pressure. We conducted a series of tests before identifying the most likely leak site to be under the concrete path close to the return jet. We cut the concrete before excavating to locate a failed 32mm pipe leaking the shell wall of the pool. We applied epoxy putty bead to the leak site before allowing time to cure. We returned to test the pipe under load and found it to be free of leaks. We applied another epoxy putty bead to the site to further add protection.
