House leak detection and repaired in Macgregor

House leak detection and repaired in Macgregor

This morning we attended to a reported house leak in Macgregor. We conducted a water meter test which identified a leak of 1728 litres per day, a pressure test failed. We introduced a combination of compressed air and tracer gas before located the general vicinity of the leak under a tiled concrete path at the rear of the property. We drilled a number of pilot holes in the grout lines before reintroducing tracer gas which helped us hone in on the actual leak site. We then removed a square section of tiles/concrete and excavated to locate a failed 25mm poly to copper joiner. Our licenced plumber completed the repair before we tested the repair then the whole line to find the line now secure. We backfilled with sand before reinstating the tiled/concrete and cleaning the site.
