03 Jan Swimming pool leak detection & repair in Chincilla
On New Years Day we travelled all the way to Chincilla to conduct a swimming pool leak detection repair on a vinyl lined pool. Our client had ongoing pool leaks since 2019. We had a number of discussions on the phone prior to attending. We arrived and tested the multiport valve noting a previous contractor had installed an in line shut off valve. We inspected and dye tested the 2 skimmer boxs, lights and return jets. We then used our Leaktrac 2400 to sweep the vinyl walls and floor checking for leaks. We then pressure tested all possible concealed plumbing. 2 x Suction lines, solar our to roof, solar return from roof to pool and solar suction x 2 back to solar pump. All held pressure. We then reconnected all the tested pipe work. We used our hydrophoned microphone to test all the pool penetrations, we climbed on the roof to inspect the connected solar heat tubes under load. Finally we entered the pool and dye tested all the penetrations before locating the leak being a failed solar suction cover plate which was drawing lots of dye. We applied epoxy putty over the leak site. Our client was extremely happy with the result which has been a point of frustration for a number of years.
