This morning we attended a reported leaking tiled pool in Indooroopilly. We first noted the shut off valve was closed to the return line. We noted the water level was sitting just above the return jets. We pressure tested the return lines which held pressure at 16 psi for 10 minutes. We then used a hydrophone microphone to test the return jets, lights x 2 and main drain including the hydrostactic valve. We then entered the pool and inspected inside the return jets and dye tested the jets. We noted a gap on the outside of the pipe which we puttied over. We the removed both light fittings inspecting and dye testing where the cable penetrates the shell. We noted on the outside of the light a gap which was drawing dye. We applied an epoxy putty bead closing the gap. We then dye tested and replaced the hydrostatic valve which ought to be replaced every 5-6 years. This was the original installed 14 years ago. Finally we isolated the solar heating provision at the pump. Our client was on site and briefed through out.
