Swimming pool leak detection and repair in Collingwood Park

This morning we attended to a reported swimming pool leak in Collingwood Park. We tested the multi port valve then the skimmer box . We then tested the concealed plumbing including the suction and return lines which both held pressure. We the dye tested the skimmer box and both return jets before testing all penetrations with a hydrophone microphone listening for the sounds of water running. Finally we entered the pool and tested the main drain including the hydrostatic valve. Our elderly client advised he has not changed the valve in the 20 years he has been at the property. (Hydrostatic valves should be changed every 5-6 years. The hydrostatic valve was broken and in pieces, probably the worse I have seen , we noted a hole in the side of the main drain which was drawing dye. We replaced the hydrostatic valve and puttied over the hole with a epoxy putty. We talked through all our testing with our client before affording him a pensioner discount.
