This morning we attended to a reported leaking concrete pool in Mt Warren Park. After obtaining background from our client we tested the skimmer box and the multi port valve before dye tested the return jets and spa . We noted the spa jets were plugged. We then pressure tested the return line which held pressure. We then tested the spa plugged line which did not hold noting water escaping in between the pool and the concrete path. We then pressure tested the suction line which did not hold pressure. After introducing a combination of air/water and tracer gas we located the general vicinity of the leak to be under a rock garden bed close to return jets. We excavated to locate the return, spa and suction line in the same trench and air bubbling away from the suction line. Our tradesman client was on site and was going to excavate and complete the repair. We then entered the pool, dye testing and replaced the original hydrostatic valve as a preventative measure going forward.
