This afternoon we attended to a leaking concrete pool in Mansfield. Our client had noticed water coming from near the return jets and therefore, removed a section of concrete path.

We conducted a pressure test on the return line to find it not secure.
We then introduced compressed air into the line to observe air bubbling away from underneath the return pipe.

Using a small jackhammer we carefully removed some concrete to observe a flexible 40mm return pipe encased in the concrete shell of the pool. We further excavated to observe a damaged section of pipe close to a 40mm “T” piece.

We discussed our findings with our client, who from there opted to do further excavations in order to keep the costs down. They will call when the site is ready for our licensed plumber to return and complete the repair before testing the entire line to ensure the line is now secure.
