02 Oct Concealed water leak detection and repair in Jindalee
This morning we attended to a house leak in Jindalee, our client had received a high consumption water notice which raised their concern they had a leak. We conducted a water meter test which revealed a leak of around 4800 litres per day. A pressure test failed, After tracing the line, we introduced compressed air and tracer gas and identified the likely leak location adjacent to the front water tap. We drilled a number of pilots to hone in on its location. We removed a section of concrete and excavated down to find a failed 16mm poly pipe directly under a stormwater drain. Serious tree roots had caused the damage. Our licensed plumber completed the repair. We then tested the repair and the entire line to find it now secure. Our client was on site throughout and was briefed as we progressed through the detection and repair. We supplied our client access to seek a rebate from their water provider of some of the water charges caused by the concealed leak.
