This afternoon we attended to a suspected upstairs bathroom leak in Heritage Park. Our client was seeing some discolouration on the ceiling and cornice movement in her kitchen which was directly below her bathroom and ensuite upstairs. We then conducted a series of tests which include a water meter test, pressure test, shower breach test, inspection behind tap and shower head cover plates, then a shower base flood dye test. These tests revealed failed waterproofing membrane in the main bathroom shower base. This was picked up by the shower flood dye test which clearly showed dye escaping in between tiles. The sound of water dripping was clearly heard in the ceiling below. A report was provided to our client who would seek advice from her insurance company. Options were discussed should the insurance company not accept the claim.
