This afternoon we attended to an upstairs bathroom leak in Banyo. We met up with our client and obtained background information then conducted a series of tests which include a water meter test, pressure test, shower breach test, 15 minute drain test, inspection behind tap and shower head cover plates, then a shower base flood dye test. These tests revealed missing silicone behind the shower taps and shower head as well as failed waterproofing membrane under the shower base. We siliconed behind the taps and shower head then siliconed where it was clear dye was being in drawn into the corner where the shower screen door and wall meet. We noted dye leaking through the ceiling directly below then discussed our findings with options going forward with our client.
