10 Jul House leak detection & repair in Beenleigh
Yesterday we attended to a house leak in Beenleigh, a water meter revealed a leak of 3927 litres per day. A pressure test failed . After tracing the line we introduced a combination of compressed air and tracer to locate the general vicinity of the leak to under concrete near the laundry door. With the owner consent we drilled a number of pilots and then felt air and obtained a high gas reading coming out of the pilot holes. Our client was briefed throughout the process. We then provided a quote to effect the repair.
This afternoon we returned to start the repair, using our quickcut we cut a small section of the concrete to confirm the leak location. We were directly over the leak but a further small section of concrete was removed in order to complete the repair. We excavated to locate a failed 25mm poly pipe close to the sewer line. After completing and testing the repair we pressurised the entire line to find a minor drop in pressure. A subsequent water meter test revealed a very small water leak, which was not cost effective to investigate further.
