24 Aug Residential water leak – Rochedale South
Recently we attended to a house leak in Rochedale South, our client received a high consumption water notice and called for assistance. We attended and conducted a water meter test which revealed a leak of 5700 litres per day, after conducting a series of tests located the leak source under the concrete driveway. We removed a section of concrete to find a failed (rusted) gal water pipe. We recommended the complete water line to be replaced however our client wanted us to effect the repair . We replaced the damaged section before retesting the line to find it now secure by our licensed plumber Sam . We were further advised the line was still leaking, we returned the next day to inspect the site which showed Sam’s repair was secure however the line failed at a different section. Our original advice remained , stating it was not in the client’s best interest to repair a clearly compromised line and the only way forward is a replacement lead in from the water meter to the house. As a sign of good faith we reduced our repair costs even though our repair was secure.
