This morning we attended to a reported leaking fibreglass swimming pool in Corinda. We tested the 5 way valve, pressure tested the suction side and return plumbing which was secure. We then used a hydrophoned microphone to test the skimmer box, return jets and hydrostatic valve and light listening for the sound of water escaping. We then used our Leaktrac 2400 to test the integrity of the fibreglass shell the machine directed us to the hydrostatic valve as a possible leak source . We then entered the pool and dye tested all mentioned above looking for an indication of dye escaping to identify a leak source. The hydrostatic valve was leaking. We replaced the hydrostatic valve adding some epoxy putty We removed the light fitting and bracket to test for leaks.
