Water Leak Detection in Macgregor (Brisbane, QLD)

This morning we attended to a house leak in Redland Bay, we were asked to attend to assist a local plumber in locating a concealed water leak. A water meter test revealed a leak of 261 litres per day. A pressure test failed, After tracing the line, we introduced compressed air before locating the general vicinity of the leak to be close to the edge of the concrete drive. We drilled a number of pilot holes at that location , then introduced tracer gas to reveal a strong gas reading at the location. Our referral plumber was on site and was completing the repair.

We then attended to an urgent water leak in Macgregor, last night our client had lost water pressure, then called Urban Utilities after hours crew who attended to confirm a huge water leak. We confirmed a water leak of 28,800 litres per day or 1 litre every 3 seconds. We conducted a pressure test which failed before tracing the line and locating a failed 25mm 90 degree fitting at an unknown irrigation system. Our client was engaging their own plumber to complete the repair.
