This afternoon we returned to a concealed water leak at large allotment in Toowong. A water meter test confirmed a water leak of 2335 litres per day. This property was quite challenging as the distance from the water meter to the house was around 200 metres.

After tracing the line we introduced a combination of compressed air and tracer gas located the general vicinity which happened to be on the driveway of a neighbour who shares the same private driveway. We drilled a number of pilot holes to get closer to the leak source.

We then removed a section of concrete excavated down to locate the water pipe tucked under a stormwater drain. A further section of concrete was needed to be removed before finding a failed 32mm poly pipe.

We completed the repair, tested the repair, then the whole line to find it now secure. An inspection of the water meter now showed no movement. Our licensed plumber replaced a vanity mixer whilst we were there.

We completed a clean up and reinstated the concrete that was removed which gives the neighbour immediate access from their property.
