House leak detection & repair – Chapel Hill

House leak detection & repair – Chapel Hill

This morning we attended to a concealed water leak in Chapel Hill.

Water was seen running out of the stormwater discharge point at the front kerb.

A water meter test revealed a leak of 5082 litres per day, a pressure test failed to hold pressure.

After tracing the line and introducing a combination of compressed air and tracer gas we located the leak under a timber deck at the front of the property.

We discussed the options going forward with our client and decided the most cost effective way forward was to bypass the damaged section of pipe under the deck.

We excavated on either side of the deck to locate the water pipe then reconnected a new section.

We pressure tested the line upon completion to find the line now secure.

A water meter test was also conducted which now show no movement.
