Inground pebblecrete Swimming pool leak detection – Camp Hill

This afternoon we attended to a swimming pool leak in Camp Hill, our client advised the pool has been loosing water consistently for a number of weeks. We attended and tested the 5 way valve, hydrophoned and dye tested the main drain, skimmer box, return jets and solar provision. We the tested the concealed plumbing , we found the suction side to be secure however the return plumbing from the pump back to the return jets were not holding pressure which indicated the line is not secure and is leaking. We then traced the line and introduced 3/4 of a bottle of tracer gas before finally locating the likely leak location being under a slate and concrete path at the side of the pool. We marked the spot and packed up to speak to our client about our findings and gain approval of our quotation to return to excavate so our licensed plumber Sam can make the repair. In most cases there is only one leak in a line, but to be sure after we complete the repair we will re test the line to hopefully find it secure.
